Redirected from Password Manager - Remember, delete, change and import saved passwords in Firefox. Note: Starting in Firefox version 76 on Mac and Windows, OS authentication may be required when accessing stored passwords using the Edit , Copy , or the Reveal button represented by the "eye" icon.

This is not your Firefox Account credentials; see Lockwise asks for authentication password, voice, face or fingerprint when accessing passwords for more information. Table of Contents 1 Make Firefox remember usernames and passwords 2 Managing multiple accounts for a site 3 Managing usernames and passwords 3.

Tip: Clicking outside of the Save prompt will hide it. To bring it back, just click the key icon on the left side of the address bar. If Firefox does not prompt you to save passwords, see the article Usernames and passwords are not saved. Note: Some websites offer to keep you logged in by clicking a check box on the site. This is a feature of the website and will work whether or not you have saved your username and password in Firefox.

To view passwords for a specific site , click the username field for that site, then click View Saved Logins see above. Note: You can enter a site, username or password in the Firefox Lockwise Search logins text box, to filter the logins listed on the left. Remove all saved logins Click on the menu button to open the menu panel. Disabling the view passwords button isn't very helpful because you can get there by typing about:logins as well as the "Logins and Passwords" menuitem.

That's why the policy disables the password manager which is similar to what happens on other browsers. With only password reveal disabled you still have to use the Copy feature that allows to copy the password to the clipboard where you only have to paste it in a text area to have it is readable form.

Wouldn't it be safer to disable this Copy feature as well and only allow "Fill Password" to get the password in a form? I noticed an issue with DisablePasswordReveal in combination of using "Create New Login" as this removes the password field leaving only the label, so you can only enter the username and not the password. I copied the Microsoft behavior in this case and it was mainly focused on preventing someone from quickly seeing your passwords.

I'll see what they do about copy and if we need a new policy. Definitely sounds like a bug. That's odd though because we're only messing with the little eye symbol.
