Can i wear creepers to school

Not to be confused with wedge sneakers, creepers are thick, flat platform shoes with crepe soles. A few years ago, this was a massive fashion trend. It has died down a bit since then, but there are now fashion designers and influencers who are bringing creepers back!

To get this look, start with boyfriend jeans, the perfect pants to wear with creepers. Then add a tight turtleneck shirt to balance out the loose jeans. To add an additional layer, I recommend a cute cardi like this one. This cardigan will bring your entire outfit together and keep you warm! Depending on where you live, you may also need a coat! In New England, temperatures are already dropping to 30 degrees. The best kind of coat to complete this look is a trench style coat. So, when creepers became a stylish footwear choice and not just medically prescribed, I stayed well away.

This was one trend I would not be trying…. Of course, the ones in the window were a cute size 4 and looked positively petite in comparison to my clunking size 8s. Back on the shelf they went. Come to me, ugly shoes! Your feet are fine Love your very diplomatic comment, Lucy! I agree that the notion of ugly shoes is an odd one — feet are not the prettiest body part to start with, so why make them worse? You wear them really well and make them look cute. They bring me out in hives. I also have size 8 feet.

I have the exact opposite problem — my feet are weirdly small for my height and shape — and although I think you look lovely with creepers, I completely understand the whole foot complex. I love this outfit! I had to wear chunky shoes at school because I had to wear insoles and they were NOT cool back in the day, funny huh!?

They look great with the dress. I used to wear enormous Doctor Martin shoes while everyone else had pretty high street shop shoes so my opinion is hugely swayed by the emotional scars of my unfortunate shoe history. Now, I always get confused over this. What IS an 8? Weirdly, the best big foot champion on the High Street is New Look who go up to a This makes me very happy as I wrote to them when I was about 13 complaining about the ordeal of big footed people to get school shoes.

I like to think I was the catalyst. Love this look and counteracting the girliness of a dress but also love playing to type and wearing them with rolled up jeans and a shirt. You are my ugly shoe inspiration!

They suit you so much and really work well with your cool London style. Just being honest. I have size 9 UK feet and constantly wear creepers of the London Underground variety. I have female friends with size 10, 12, 13 my brother has size 16 feet as a trivia point who wear creepers.

I like your outfit choice. I recently bought my first ever pair of Dr Martens though and despite initially worrying they made my already massive feet look even bigger I am absolutely head over heels in love with them! In terms of shoes, there isn't much variety at my school. In the winter, the abundance of Ugg-clad feet has me mistaking the hallways for a sheep farm.

When the weather starts getting nicer, simple tennis shoes, sandals, and ballet flats are all common. Keeping this in mind, the reaction I received when I wore my creepers to school was not unexpected. Even before school had started, I could hear whispers as I thumped down the hallway. In class, my peers had some interesting comments. One boy turned to me and said "What's up with the shoes? Even my friends found my choice in footwear off-putting. None of the remarks affected me, though -- I loved my shoes and that was all that mattered.

That day was about two months ago. I've worn them twice since, and I still get comments on them, but nothing compared to the first day. But, creepers have been gaining popularity in my Washington, D.
