I came to this page because I am feeling the pain so brutally and the illusion. But yes.. I guess that this frustration is supposed to lead us to the fact that there is One who does love.. I know that it is hard to believe.. And you push your old friends away. Just like drug addiction It makes a lot to sense. I agree. Love is only powerful because we give power to it by constantly saying it and thinking it. The practical part seems to fail completely. However after reading the comments, as a rational thinker i come to the assumption, that honest and rational people have the highest chance to have a good friend- or relationsship, as long as they stay honest and rational.
I think, that most of you just need a similar minded character to find more pleasure in social interactions, because most sheep out there are following the common illusions including the so called love to fail over and over again.
Just ironic, how similar thinking people drop the same thoughts here without even thinking about to proceed exchanging more thoughts. Wow I actually enjoyed reading about this page and comments people are making.. The next thing they leave that one person who meant the whole world to them. But then the thought of being alone at the end because of not believing in love is also scary. Your email address will not be published. And not just romantically. My sister is my closest friend, the person who understands me the most. I also believe in multiple love stories. Maybe you will find someone and be blessed with decades of love with that person. Maybe you will spend a few magical years with one person, then decades with another. There is no right or wrong here - just a bunch of events outside of our control, and another bunch of choices we make.
When you remove the concept of scouring the Earth for your One True Match, it makes love all the more special. But now scientists have discovered for the first time their brains can develop up to ten years earlier than boys. It is completely unrealistic to expect a mature and healthy relationship out of a boy who is already so much less mature than you, in scientific means and all other means necessary.
And it works with the situation reversed as well; boys are just as subject to falling falsely in love and getting hurt and disappointed just like girls. With Romeo and Juliet as my most prime example, there is just no way for young love to ever be justified as mature or well thought-out.
In reality, love is more than loving another person. In order to truly be in love with someone, you must have a stable and loving relationship with yourself first. How can we expect someone to fall in love when we are all trying so desperately to find the will to love ourselves in this challenging and harsh world we live in?
There is no love, only hormones and confusion. But as I said before, the fact that even though we know that the relationship may not favor us in the end, we still continue to risk it, which is incredible. But why do we do it?
Is it for the temporary high of feeling cared for? Which is scary, and unfortunately the reality in our teenage society today. Love is often pushed as the end goal for everyone, but not because it makes us better.
But because we want it to make us feel better. We want it to fix our problems, to make us whole, to take our bad moments, and make them worthwhile.
We are less concerned about becoming better and more about feeling better. We declared that, despite there being so many things in this life that can make us feel good, love is the ultimate solution. No wonder we dive into relationships searching for something, or keeping it at bay because we are terrified we will never find it. We made it seem like it was the ultimate key to our happiness when love was never supposed to be about that.
